Facilitator Tip 2 - Read the Questions Aloud Before the Meeting

READ THE QUESTIONS ALOUD BEFORE THE MEETING

You will want to read the questions aloud in your preparation time. Just because you can read a word and know what it means doesn’t mean you can properly pronounce it verbally during the small group. Be sure to read the questions aloud before the group meets, especially if you will be reading Old Testament passages which often have more difficult location names and person names. Furthermore, related to this topic is an important point for you as a facilitator to be aware of. Don’t ask people to read Scripture unless you know that the person likes to read Scripture. Some people are not good readers and don’t want to read in front of others, and other people can read but they don’t want to read Scripture in front of other people. So don’t call on anyone to read Scripture unless you know he likes to read in front of others.
