In this book on Bible study Warren Wiersbe writes, “Preparation for labor is as important as the labor itself” (The Delights and Disciplines of Bible Study, p. 80). As you facilitate a small group you need to do everything you can to prepare to facilitate a discussion of the people in your group. 

WATCH THE LEADER COACHING VIDEOS

If your group is using a DVD study, often there are some coaching videos on the DVDs (or available online).

In your preparation time for your small group be sure to watch those videos because they will help you be ready to facilitate a discussion. If you have a co-leader or assistant, encourage him to watch the coaching videos too. This might mean you need a few copies of the DVDs you are using for your group. If needed, ask your Small Groups Pastor to give you an extra copy of the DVD. Our DivorceCare and GriefShare materials have some great coaching videos. Some of the Living on the Edge studies have leader coaching videos as well. True Spirituality, The Real Heaven, and Spiritual Simplicity all have leader coaching videos available either on the DVD or online.
